Concert with the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra

Get ready for an emotional rollercoaster of an evening, with music that is both beautiful, temperamental, impressive, tragic -- and ready for battle!

Marcus Paus' Tuba Mirum: Concerto for tuba and orchestra was written for the evening's wonderful soloist, August Schieldrop. It is a work that not only challenges the soloist's technical skills, but also gives room for the instrument's beautiful lyrical qualities -- in a concert that the composer himself describes as "seriously distorted and playful seriousness".

Schumann's Symphony No. 2 is full of fighting spirit, melancholy, intensity and an expressive musical exuberance; a journey from tragedy to triumph.

The evening's concert begins with Dvořák's beautiful tone poem The Wild Dove (also called the Forest Dove).
