Norwegian Language Course
with SINTEF and Onboard Norway
To present in Norwegian to internal and external clients and to actively participate in meetings with internal and external clients. To focus on industry specific vocabulary and knowledge and the presentation of industry specific content in Norwegian.
(Course only conducted in Norwegian). For those who have been in Norway for an extended time and who have an advanced proficiency in Norwegian grammar and in conversing in a professional setting.
There is a high focus on speech, conversations and presentations, specialised industry specific vocabulary, focus on confidence talking with clients, and confidence presenting in front of internal and external clients using Norwegian.
This course focuses on advanced vocabulary, industry specific terminology, presenting in Norwegian and confidence in business interaction in Norwegian. The aim is to help participants to use Norwegian to express themselves in a precise and nuanced manner in a professional setting.
Can express oneself fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions. Can use language flexibly and effectively for social, research and professional purposes. Can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognise implicit meaning and effectively conduct research in Norwegian when required.
2 hours of face to face class time per week. There is no testing or examination for this course, but there will be assigned homework tasks and participants are expected to complete 3-4 hours of self-study each week.
Readings and other course materials will be provided throughout the course. There is no need to purchase material for this course.
One 2-hour class time each week (including 15-minute break). Classes will be limited to 5-6 participants. This course is being provided to you by your employer with the expectation that you will attend each class. If you are not able to attend a class, it must be arranged with your instructor beforehand. If classes are missed without notification, your instructor will follow up with you and, if needs be, with your supervisor.
