Walk to Rønningen in Bymarka - Sunday!

Family event at the Norwegian hiking association´s cabin Rønningen in Bymarka

This Sunday is Get Out There Day around Norway, so put on your hiking shoes or rubber boots and join the fun at Rønningen! We will be meeting at the car park of Granåsen at 11:00 this Sunday, to walk together to Rønningen in Byrmarka.

There will be a lot of family friendly activities such as face painting, teddy bear zipline, international bread baking, bean bag toss, orienteering, air rifle shooting, nature walk with questions. The event is free and open to everyone, and there is usually a lot of people!

At Rønningen there will be coffee, soda, waffles with jam, other baked goods and hot dogs, for sale. But you are of course welcome to bring your own ´matpakke´ Norwegian style. 

 The weather forecast says overcast and 19 degrees Celsius and a little rain, but to be on the safe side, bring a back-pack with a warm sweater, rainjacket, extra pair of socks for the kids, maybe even a beanie. It is not recommended to wear light city shoes.

How To Get There:

From the city centre, in order to be at Granåsen by 11:00 we recommend taking the bus number 3 at 10:34 from Kongens Gate K1, it is then necessary to change at Arnt Smistads veg 2, cross the road to the bus stop Arnt Smistads veg 1, and take the number 23 toward Sandmoen. The stop is for Granåsen is Granåsen VM-anlegget. Click here to see the full time table and route. 

It is important that we are all there at 11:00 because the walk will take approx. 1.5 hours and the event at Rønningen finishes at 14:00. If you arrive after 11:00 you will have to follow the path toward Rønningen your self. 

It is also important that you sign up in case we need to send last minute changes due to the weather.
